 Biography
Emily James
has received recognition of her talent through awards and honors, and has enjoyed
creating and sharing her art since she was a child. She currently creates custom artwork
that has a special meaning, from a favorite golf hole, to a
memorable vacation destination. A native Floridian, Emily is known for her versatility in both
subject and style, painting landscapes, seascapes, abstracts, and florals. She specializes in creating custom artwork with the
feeling and colors the owner will enjoy viewing, often a scene from
her travels or those of her client.
With her acrylics
and oils on canvas, Emily has received numerous Best-In-Show
ribbons, and was selected as an Outstanding American Woman in the
Arts. She is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society,
accepted into Watercolor U.S.A., and featured in the book,
Best of Watercolor.
She has exhibited at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and at
numerous one-woman shows, one of which sold out before the show
officially opened.
She is the only
artist in the U.S. selected by the top three fine art publishers to
make images of her work.
The largest of these has published
fourteen of her images, two of which are in the top 50 selling fine
art prints worldwide.
Born in
Pensacola, Emily majored in art at Florida State University and
paints daily in her studio overlooking the tropical 5th Avenue of
Naples, Florida.
Artist's Statement
I didn't decide to
become an artist. I was born an artist. My earliest
memory is searching the house for more paper on which to sketch,
having drawn on every available piece I could find.
It has been a magical
journey for so many years, so many paintings, and I am still spellbound
as I watch an image unfold before my eyes. There is so much beauty
in the world around us, and I was blessed with this gift that allows me
to transfer it into a lasting memory.
One of my greatest joys
is sharing my talent with others by creating beautiful and uplifting
artwork for people to enjoy. |
